Read text with Live Text
Open a photo in Photos and look for the Live Text control. Select the text, then use the available translation action. Availability depends on the device, system version, language and image.
If the control is absent, check Settings → General → Language & Region for Live Text and consult Apple’s current support information. A tilted, blurry or very small text region may not be recognized.
Translate and save an image in Safari
The web tool does not require installation. Use a photo you are allowed to send to an external translation service.
- Open HonyakuMiru in Safari and choose an image from Photos or Files.
- Choose the source and target language. Start translation and keep the tab open.
- Compare the original with the result. Download PNG or WebP, then check Safari’s download destination in Files.
File formats and downloads
HEIC is converted in the browser before upload. If the conversion fails, export a JPEG or PNG version and try that file. The original upload limit is 10 MB; the tool shows its current processing limits.
Downloaded files may be in Files rather than Photos. From Files you can open the image and use the device’s sharing or save options. Check that small text is readable in the saved file, not just in a scaled preview.
