How to translate screenshots and flowcharts

Screenshots make text that cannot be copied easier to translate. Start with a clear original and choose a useful region so that dense labels remain readable.

Prepare a clear screenshot

Capture the original screen at its normal resolution. Prefer PNG for diagrams and user interfaces. Remove unrelated regions or personal information before uploading. A screenshot of a screenshot often loses useful detail.

For a long image, inspect the smallest labels. If resizing makes them unreadable, crop the image into logical sections with some surrounding context. Keep arrow labels and headings together where possible.

Translate the screenshot

Clipboard paste works when your browser exposes an image file from the clipboard. Otherwise select the saved file.

  1. Choose or paste the screenshot and check the preview.
  2. Choose the source language if automatic detection is uncertain, then select the desired target.
  3. Translate, compare each block and save the result. For a flowchart, follow the arrows and check every branch label.

Check labels, code names and reading order

Short labels may lack context. A product name or class name can be mistaken for ordinary words, especially beside another language. Verify API identifiers, numbers, dates and button labels character by character.

A translated image is a reading aid, not an interactive copy of the original app. Before clicking a control in the real application, check its original position and surrounding explanation. Mixed-language images may need a second pass with a different source language.

Frequently asked questions

01Can I paste a screenshot?

Yes, when your browser provides the clipboard image. If pasting is unavailable, choose the image file instead.

02Can I translate a very long screenshot?

Yes, within the tool’s limits. If small text becomes unreadable after resizing, translate logical sections separately.

03Why do technical names change?

The translation service may interpret an identifier as ordinary language. Compare class names, product names and code tokens with the original.
